Personal Loan FAQ's

General

To provide lending responsibly we need to identify you and also make sure you can afford the repayments. We need a photo ID such as a Passport or Driver License – you can email us a photo taken from your phone. We also need confirmation of your income, we usually get this by requesting your last three months of bank statements. We will send you a link to provide your recent statements direct to us securely online from your bank. Your consultant will go through this with you.

You can email a photo of your ID to us. And there is no need to print and scan your bank statements. We simply send you a link that authorises us to view your statements online. This is done easily and securely and your Personal Loan Consultant will go through this with you.

Anything else required can be emailed to us.

Firstly, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application and advising who your Personal Loan Consultant is and how best to contact them. Your consultant will request some information from you, and then commence the loan approval process, typically this takes between one and two hours* and your consultant will contact you if we have any queries or need to clarify anything.

We send your loan documents through to you electronically so you can sign them. We run through them with you to ensure you fully understand the terms, payments etc.

Once the completed loan documents are returned to us with any requested information, your loan is processed that day. Depending on which bank you’re with, you will receive your funds that same day*. If it’s a bit too close to the end of the day the payment of the funds might need to be the following day.

We can normally assist if we know the circumstances. In most cases we can still help if your current credit is up to date and your bank statements show good conduct.

We can look to add collateral to the loan to improve the chances of approval. This could either be a motor vehicle or a property.

We treat your application confidentially and the only people who will see your application are us and any loan provider that we send it to.

Debt Consolidation

We like to do this properly which means we take all of your debts into consideration and consolidate them into one loan which is in sync with your pay day.

Yes. We can pay debts directly if we have a Settlement Letter with the details for the settlement, or we will pay the funds to your bank account and you can pay them yourself.

If another lender has security over an asset that we are using then we will need to pay this directly to make sure the asset is paid off for the new loan.

In most cases we can get some cash for you as well as consolidating your debts. It all depends on your affordability which we will access and confirm the options to you.

Insurance

We have four different policies to offer depending on your needs:

1. Credit Contract Indemnity Insurance (CCI) – This covers you in the event you are unable to work due to sickness, accident, or if you should unfortunately be made redundant. It also repays your loan should you die.
2. Vehicle Warranties – Covers against unexpected mechanical or electrical faults.
3. Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance – Covers against accident damage and theft.
4. Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) – This covers against the shortfall if your insurance company pay-out is less than your finance settlement.

Fully policy details are provided at the time. We go over the features and benefits of all insurance products to ensure they are suitable for you. All products are optional.

The cost of a CCI policy varies depending on the size of your loan and the loan term. Warranties depend upon the year, make, model and mileage of your vehicle. and your driving history. The cost of any premium can be added to your loan or you can pay separately. Please contact us for a quote.

Personal Loans

Personal Loans can be used for any legal reason and we are able to offer unsecured loans up to $50,000 for qualifying applicants. Larger loans may require security and we are able to use motor vehicles, properties, or a variety of other assets. Your consultant will discuss this with you.

Property

Most of our clients do have a mortgage on their property. This is not a problem as we calculate the available equity after allowing for this mortgage.

Depending on the deal we may require confirmation of the outstanding balance from the mortgage holder.

Yes we will require proof of insurance over the property as it is security for the loan.

No problem, we have the loan documentation completed in a specific way that you sign as a trustee of the Trust and then normally a guarantee in your personal name.

Vehicle Loans

Most definitely! We thoroughly recommend getting pre-approved prior to purchasing your next vehicle. All pre-approvals last for 30 days giving you plenty of time to track down that bargain. Alternatively, we can sometimes offer an unsecured loan and pay the funds to you so you can then go vehicle shopping with cash.

Yes, we are able to finance vehicles bought privately, through Trademe, vehicle tender or auction. We are not affiliated with any car dealers.

We can even consider an Unsecured Loan* separate from the car you want to buy so that you get the funds direct to your bank account first. You can then shop for a car with the money ready to go.

When we receive a complaint, we will:

  • Acknowledge your complaint within 1-2 working days.
  • Initiate our complaints process according to our Complaints Management Policy.
  • Gather and evaluate information about your complaint.
  • If your complaint cannot be resolved immediately, we will provide you with a copy of our Complaints Disclosure document.
  • Respond to you within 20 working days.

If we cannot agree on how to resolve the complaint, you can contact Financial Services Complaints Limited (FSCL). FSCL are an independent, not-for-profit, external dispute resolution scheme approved by the Minister of Consumer Affairs.

FSCL’s service does not cost you anything and they will help resolve the complaint. You can contact FSCL:
